Strengthening Bilateral Relations: President Yoon Suk Yeol Visits UAE to Discuss Nuclear Power, Energy, Investment, and Defence Industry Collaboration

President Yoon Suk Yeol of the Republic of Korea visited the UAE and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in nuclear power plants, energy, investment, and defence industry. The two countries are looking at ways to collaborate in climate change responses, science and technology, future new industries, healthcare, cultural exchange, and other areas. President Yoon was accompanied by a delegation of over 100 Korean business leaders and government officials. This year’s COP 28 will assess progress towards the Paris Agreement Goals and it is expected that the UAE will play an important role in this regard as they have declared their goal of carbon neutrality.

Carbon Neutrality in Practice

One way to achieve carbon neutrality is to reduce the amount of carbon emissions that are produced. This can be done through energy efficiency measures such as switching to renewable energy sources, or by reducing the amount of energy used. Additionally, carbon offsets can be purchased to compensate for the remaining emissions. Carbon offsets involve investing in projects that reduce emissions elsewhere, such as planting trees or investing in clean technology. By implementing these strategies, it is possible to offset the amount of carbon emitted and become carbon neutral.
