Sarawak Government Launches Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 to Increase Revenue and Mitigate Climate Change

The Sarawak government is implementing the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 to increase its revenue. This includes utilizing hydrogen energy and carbon capture and storage technology as new income sources, reducing reliance on conventional sources like diesel. This will enable climate change issues to be mitigated while also providing opportunities for locals to get higher pay through technological development. The event was attended by Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and others.

Covid-19: A Global Pandemic

Covid-19 is a contagious disease caused by the novel coronavirus, first identified in Wuhan, China in late 2019. Since then, it has spread rapidly around the world, resulting in a global pandemic. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there have been over 75 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 and more than 1.7 million deaths due to the virus. It is important for everyone to take precautions against Covid-19 by washing their hands regularly, wearing face masks when out in public, and practicing social distancing.
