Provaris Energy Ltd. Making Progress in Green Hydrogen Supply Chain Development

Provaris Energy Ltd. is making progress in their development activities for green hydrogen supply chains in Europe. The concept of a tank prototype for compressed hydrogen (pressure hydrogen) is complete and construction and testing in Norway are planned for the first quarter of 2024. Further technical and economic qualification is taking place with major European supply companies, ports, and pipeline companies to include the compression of the medium for the import of gaseous green hydrogen. The tank-IP will be expanded to include the concept of a new small-format hydrogen storage solution for onshore solutions and maritime applications (1 to 10 tons capacity) which should open up corresponding marketing opportunities by 2024. Development activities are continuing through two cooperation projects for the export of green hydrogen using Provaris’ developed storage ships and transport media for hydrogen. Suitable regional options for a pressure hydrogen supply chain outside Norway are being explored.

Green Hydrogen: A Clean Energy Source

Green hydrogen is a clean energy source that is created through the electrolysis of water. This process uses renewable electricity sources such as solar or wind power to separate water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. The resulting hydrogen gas can then be used as a fuel for transport, heating, or electricity generation. Green hydrogen has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help countries meet their climate goals while providing an affordable and reliable energy source. It is also seen as a key technology in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
