Norway and Germany to Sign Agreement for Large-Scale Hydrogen Supply by 2030

Norway and Germany are in talks to build a pipeline that would provide Germany with large-scale hydrogen supplies by 2030. The two countries will sign an agreement to this effect during the visit of German Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck to Norway this week. Norway has the potential to produce up to 50 terawatt hours of green hydrogen by 2030, which could be used for Germany’s transition to a more climate-friendly economy.

Hydrogen as an Energy Source

Hydrogen is a clean and renewable energy source that has been gaining traction in recent years. It can be used to power electric vehicles, fuel cells, and other forms of transportation. Hydrogen can also be used to generate electricity through fuel cells, or it can be burned in internal combustion engines for propulsion. Additionally, hydrogen can be used to store energy from renewable sources like solar and wind. The use of hydrogen as an energy source could help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while providing a reliable and affordable source of energy.
