Japan and Saudi Arabia Cooperate to Achieve Carbon Neutral Society

Japan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to cooperate in the energy sector to reduce emissions and achieve a carbon neutral society. This includes utilizing carbon recycling technology, hydrogen and ammonia as clean fuel sources. The two countries also discussed the importance of securing stable energy supplies by promoting dialogue between oil producers and importers. Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura will visit the United States from Jan 5th to meet with US officials about these topics.

Carbon Neutrality: What it Means

Carbon neutrality is a goal to reduce the net amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. This can be achieved by reducing emissions through energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and other methods. Carbon neutrality also includes offsetting remaining emissions by investing in projects that capture or store carbon from the atmosphere. Carbon neutrality is an important part of climate change mitigation efforts and is increasingly being adopted by governments, businesses, and individuals around the world.
