Saudi Arabia and Japan Sign Memorandum of Cooperation to Promote Clean Energy Sources

On Sunday, Saudi Arabia and Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to promote the development of clean energy sources such as circular carbon economy, carbon recycling, clean hydrogen and fuel ammonia. The MoC was signed by Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Japanese Industry Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura during their meeting in which they both discussed the importance of global oil market stability. They also highlighted the need to ensure safe supplies from all energy sources to global markets with Saudi Arabia being the largest dependable source of crude oil supplies to Japan.

The Benefits of Clean Energy

Clean energy is an important part of the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change. Clean energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal and hydropower are renewable and produce no air pollution or carbon dioxide emissions. Additionally, clean energy is more cost-effective than traditional fossil fuels in the long run. Investing in clean energy can create jobs, improve public health and help protect our environment for generations to come.
